10 new Vande Bharat trains will run in India from today: PM Modi has given green signal to the Railways.
12 March 2024 Today we can say that it is really a very good day for Indian Railways and train passengers and train lovers. 10 new Vande Bharat trains were flagged off today by the Prime Minister of our country PM Modi, expanding the network to cover a total of 45 nationwide routes and taking the number to more than 50.
Regarding this, Prime Minister Modi said that this is just a glimpse of the country's development work going forward in the last decade. After inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of different railway projects, Modi said that this day is a living proof of willpower. He urged the youth to shape the future of the country and its railway system.
Addressing the youth of India, the Prime Minister said that the services inaugurated are for their present, while the foundation stone laid guarantees a promising future. Indian Railways operates 41 Vande Bharat Express services, connecting 24 states and 256 districts through a broad gauge electrified network.
If reports are to be believed, there will now be two Vande Bharat trains on six routes including Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Delhi-Katra, Mysuru-Chennai, Delhi-Varanasi, Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram and the new Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad route. These trains mainly run on electrified broad gauge networks in various states.
Describing the current youth of India, Prime Minister Modi has said that the ocean has been opened for them, while Dora leads towards a promising future. Indian Railways is operated by 41 Vande Bharat Express consisting of 24 statos and 256 General I registered statos through broad electric electrified network.
In December 2023, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated six additional Vande Bharat trains, increasing connectivity on routes such as Katra to New Delhi, Coimbatore to Bengaluru, Amritsar to Delhi, Jalna to Mumbai, Mangalore to Madgaon and Ayodhya to Delhi.
The latest 10 Vande Bharat Express trains that have flagged off will cover the following routes:
- Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central
- New Jalpaiguri-Patna
- Lucknow-Dehradun
- Patna-Lucknow
- Khajuraho-Delhi (Nizamuddin)
- Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam
- Puri-Visakhapatna
- Ranchi-Varanasi
- Mysuru-Dr. MGR Central (Chennai)
- Kalaburagi–Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru
In addition to these trains, Prime Minister Modi extended four existing Vande Bharat trains: Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod to Mangaluru, Ahmedabad-Jamnagar to Dwarka, Ajmer-Delhi, Sarai Rohilla to chandhigadh, and Gorakhpur-Lucknow to Prayagraj.
Reports further add that the Indian Railways is now working on a sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express for overnight travel, with a prototype being manufactured in Bengaluru by BEML. Recently, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the car body of the sleeper version.
Introduced by Indian Railways in 2019, the Vande Bharat Express was initially a prototype for faster travel. Over the time, the train has undergone improvements, featuring faster acceleration and deceleration, ambient lighting, aircraft-style toilets, personalised reading lights, automatic interconnecting doors, fully sealed gangways, modern luggage racks, European-style seats, and more.
